Sewing Inspiration: French Boutis, Natural Dyeing and Designers.

Happy start to the week! Am I the only one who must check the calendar frequently to see what day of the week we are on? In short words, I wish you a productive and healthy week for you and yours.

It is Monday and Mondays, even in these times, are tougher than other days of the week (at least for most of us). So today’s mail will be full of inspiration for this week.

1. Boutis: Quilting lovers, this is for you. I introduce to those who do not know it, the quilting technique called “Boutis”. It is a type of French quilting that has AMAZING finishes. I leave you photos so that you know it and a highly recommended book to learn the technique. This is a great way to personalize your sewing projects! The Art of Boutis – 20 French Quilting Projects:

2. Lihi Hod: Israeli fashion designer who is dedicated to creating wedding dresses. I personally do not work wedding dresses, but I am fascinated by the style of this designer and even though I don’t work with brides I get inspired by her creations. Lihi Hod has a wonderful, elegant and sublime taste. Take advantage of knowing this great artist and learning how she works her creations.

3. Flavia Aranha: incredible Brazilian clothing brand whose garments are dyed naturally, giving wonderful and truly unusual results. The concept of this brand is truly incredible, and it inspires us to discover new ways of working on our sewing projects. The printed fabrics, for the most part, represent the presence of chemicals, which leads us to always think about toxicity and environmental damage. I find it wonderful to be inspired by Flavia Aranha’s creations and one of my personal goals is to be able to dye my creations one day. I leave you an excellent book on these techniques for dyeing fabrics.Indigo- Cultivate, dye, create:
