Need inspiration to start your sewing side hustle?!

Hello again!

I hope you and your family are doing very well despite what is happening in the world! To cheer you up a bit, I share with you the inspiration of the day:

Illustrator Yelena Bryksenkova, who has worked on this beautiful quilting piece.

Today I’m going to review our top 5 useful tools within sewing:

1. Stencil Cutter:

This is one of my most recent discoveries. It is an electronic stencil cutter that heats the tip and allows you to cut all fabrics made of synthetic materials. The advantages of this tool is that it makes very precise cuts and at the same time “finishes” off the edges, preventing fraying.

2. Rottary cutter:

This cutter will surely be known by most of you. It is in my top 5 today because I find it a tool that facilitates many cutting jobs. It is an excellent investment and it is worth buying a quality one. My recommended brand par excellence is OLFA.

3. Hot Ruler CLOVER:

I love this ruler because it really guarantees me perfect ironing in straight areas. I really like the idea of it being heat resistant because it makes ironing certain parts easier where I used to suffer.

4. Water soluble stabilizer:

This is another tool that I love. I have found this stabilizer very useful for sewing some types of hems that are very small. It works wonders because it allows you to stabilize seams but the material disintegrates on contact with water. Its function is to provide stability during sewing.

5. Magnetic Sewing Pincushion:

This is the typical tool that I didn’t find too useful until I went to a sewing class where someone had it. The person dropped her box of pins and I said “oh no, that’s too annoying to pick up”, and she pulled out her pin magnet and picked it up in a second. That day I found that this tool was much more useful than it seemed. It is functional to keep the pins or needles “stuck” to a surface, and prevent them from falling and scattering on the ground.

Now that you have seen this great tools, it’s time to know more about sewing tools. Here is my list of recommended sewing accessories and tools. Sometimes inventory can finish really fast, so order them today, and use my affiliate links to get the best prices:
